Present Telugu Cinema, Aweful…

cinema

I do not watch telugu films in theaters these days. Why?  Hey it is nothing personal. It’s just that there aren’t any good movies coming these days. Telugu film industry is slowly adopting the methods of capitalism. You know the idea of capitalism, it is to make profit(make more money), no matter how you do it, without any morals and ethics.

Telugu films these days are nothing but typical formula films. For those of you who do not know the hidden truth behind the term ” formula films” let me elaborate it for you. Formula Movies are the movies which essentially contains few songs, a beautiful lead actress(in scantily clad dresses), a love story, few fights, good dances, and a popular star(here they call them heroes!) and a powerful villain(bad guy). Mix all these in correct proportions and there you get it, A Typical Formula Telugu Film….

What saddens me is that even top actors who are now in their 50′s still want to dance with teenage girls. If they do not show the path then who will? And people adore them(these top stars), and regard them as great people, my foot! Can’t they do some good stuff, even at least one good film? No, they did not and I am sure nor they will in the future too.

These top stars are busy promoting their sons into industries. And their fans have started to call these sons as great actors just after one film. Oh gosh! God you must be crazy, for heavens please stop it!

But in the past, some 20-30 years ago there were great movies made in telugu during the era of N.T.R and Nageshwar Rao. Great mythologicals, great comedies, great historic movies. These movies were perfect in every sense, great story, great acting, great music everything, everything you need from a movie. These were probably the best movies I have ever seen in all languages.

Everything is a cycle, good comes then bad and again good. I am sure good movies will be made and telugu cinema industry changes for good. And rather than spoiling youth, it will instill confidence and courage in them. Until then, watch old telugu, english, or even arabic movies, but not new telugu movies…

Deep Rising

deeprising

Last night I have seen the movie “Deep Rising”. The movie started at 8.00 pm. I had missed the movie for almost 1 hour and started watching it sometime around 9 pm.

The movie is about a cruise ship, and a team of hijackers. And if you think that the story ends there then you are in a fault. There is something more interesting to that, and that is a Sea Monster. The hijackers enter the ship to find no one present in the ship, not even bodies of dead people. What might be the reason?

No one knows the exact reason what happened with the people in the ship. But they know one thing: that the ship is in danger. The hijackers unite with the remaining few people(some 7-8 lucky poeple) of the ship and try to escape(or hunt down) whatever lay before them( A sea monster).

The worst thing is that it can crush the ship easily. Even more frightening is the fact that it sucks the human beings through its pipe like arms, drinks the blood, eats other parts and then throws out the Skeleton. When they show these scenes one really feel disgusted(Although I felt good).

The rest of the story is all about escaping from that Monster, and coming back alive. The movie is fast-paced and engaging, and I would recommend it for anyone who wants entertainment+thrills.
